While this computer is available
with both an AMD processor and an Intel processor, the computer we investigated had an Intel Core 2 Duo processor with a clock
speed of 2.4 GHz. This particular model came with 2.0 GB of DDR2 memory, which
is generally enough memory to run all of your basic applications. It also came
with a 160GB SATA hard drive, which should enough space for your music and other personal files. On the multimedia side, one of the main attractions is a strip of touch sensitive media controls above
the keyboard. Another attractive multimedia feature is the DVD-RW, allowing the
user to burn some of their favorite movies to a blank DVD. This computer uses
an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3200 graphic card, which allows enough graphic support for watching movies and playing computer
games (albeit not at the highest quality) . The computer features a 15.4”
wide-screen display, with a native 1,200x800 resolution. Also incorporate into
the nice design is a 1.3-megapixel webcam located above the display and decent Lansing stereo speaker.

In terms of networking, this model
is currently quite sufficient, but may have problems as network technologies continue to advance. The wireless card included with the computer only supports 802.11 b/g capability, leaving out the up and
coming 802.11n technology and its use of MIMO. However, the 802.11 b/g capability
allows you to connect to any wireless network you may encounter currently. The
computer also features an RJ45 port for Fast Ethernet connectivity through a wired system.
The laptop does not feature any other type of wireless support, including Bluetooth, meaning that any extra (non-internet)
connectivity you may desire must be done through a wire.
As for peripherals, this computer does not feature
a FireWire port, but does have 4 USB 2.0 ports. Also, the computer features HDMI
and eSATA ports.
In conclusion, the computer is a good computer
given the price range (around $1000), features, connectivity, and overall performance.
